The Best Cuban Food in Boynton Beach

419

If you ask me, Guarapo’s has the best Cuban food near me in Boynton Beach and is one of the best values in town, especially taking their everyday and day-specific lunch specials into consideration. Some of them include chicken fricassee, beef stew, chicken with yellow rice, churrasco steak strips with onion and peppers, ground beef (picadillo), shredded beef (ropa vieja), and fried beef (vaca frita). All specials are served with white rice, black beans and sweet plantains (maduros).

Order This Smoothie… Now!

I ordered a strawberry smoothie in milk, which was quite refreshing, and is a must for me when eating at tropical restaurants.

Complimentary Garlic Bread

While waiting for the smoothie, I was served complementary garlic bread.

Vaca Frita

My Certified Angus Beef vaca frita had a slight bit of crunchiness on the top layer. I pressed the steak against my tongue to savor all the buttery flavor. Remember to cut along the grain, since it’s a flank steak. It came apart rather easily and may have been pan fried, but to be honest, I don’t know. It was just so good. Simplicity is beautiful.

Amazing Sweet Plantains

The fried sweet plantains (maduros) had a golden outer layer, and yes, they’re called sweet plantains for a reason.

Silky Beans

The beans were so good and silky, no wonder it’s a staple of Caribbean and Latin American cuisine. It made me want to have them every day.

Inside Atmosphere

The Cuban music coming out of the speakers made me want to dance, but I decided to do everyone a favor and hold off. I would’ve said to one of the women “Let’s Dance” like David Bowie, but after seeing my moves, I would’ve wound up “Dancing with Myself” like Billy Idol.

You can dine inside or outside, but I usually prefer being inside, so I can soak up the atmosphere. Inside, you’ll find artistic homages to Cuba, such as El Morro, Cuban cigars, coffee, and the flag. The tables and booths are dark brown.

The Wind-Down

Overall, delicious, simple and straightforward dishes in a simple and straightforward atmosphere. Prices are reasonable, service is friendly and there’s a parking lot right in front. I highly recommend this reasonably-priced restaurant to anyone wanting great Cuban food while in Boynton Beach
